We answer the most common questions from families about the children's tennis school.
Tennis classes for children start from the age of 3 with the mini tennis programme. From that age, children are organised into groups by age and level to ensure appropriate progression. Each stage is designed to adapt to their physical and cognitive development, from basic coordination to technical skills at more advanced ages.
Groups are organised into four stages: 3–6 years, 7–10 years, 10–14 years and 14–18 years. Within each age range, coaches carry out an initial assessment to determine the child's level and ensure they train with peers of similar characteristics. This allows for more balanced development and a better on-court experience.
The content of the classes evolves according to age. In the early stages, the focus is on coordination, motor skills and familiarisation with the racket. As children progress, basic strokes, ball control, more precise technique and tactical concepts are introduced. At higher stages, advanced technical work and preparation for a more competitive level are incorporated.
Classes are held at the Vall Parc facilities in Barcelona. The club has tennis courts, sports areas and spaces adapted for children's activities in a safe environment. Once a place is confirmed, the team assigns the corresponding group, schedule and coach.
If during the course the coach detects that the child's level is not suitable for their group, the club proposes a move to a more appropriate group. The goal is to ensure that every child trains in an environment where they can progress adequately and without frustration.
Children's tennis classes guarantee a minimum number of sessions per term. In the event of rain or a public holiday, sessions are rescheduled within the same period whenever possible. The club organises make-up sessions to ensure that students complete the planned programme.
Children must bring comfortable sportswear, suitable court shoes and a tennis racket. The club provides balls and training equipment. If a racket is not available, you can enquire about the possibility of rental or purchase recommendations based on age and level.
