Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about padel

We answer the most common questions about our courts, services and how to start playing at Vall Parc.

We are located in the upper area of Barcelona, at Carrer de l'Arrabassada, 107, 127, Horta-Guinardó, 08035 Barcelona.

Vall Parc is easily accessible from anywhere in the city and the metropolitan area. Metro lines L3 and L5 have stops less than ten minutes' walk from our facilities, while several urban bus lines connect directly with the main neighbourhoods of the city.

Specific padel shoes, with herringbone or clay soles. They will give you grip and stability, and help you avoid injuries. Playing with running shoes, for example, is a common mistake.

The ideal is 4 players, although a singles format also exists, but padel is designed for doubles, and that's where it's really enjoyed.

Padel is a very explosive sport, with changes of pace and intense short movements. A good warm-up of 10 to 15 minutes is enough:

  • Joint mobility: neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles.
  • Cardiovascular activation: light jogging, jumps or lateral movements.
  • Lower body: high knees, lunges or dynamic squats.
  • Upper body: shoulder rotations, dynamic stretches and wrist swings.
  • Gentle strokes: controlled rallies to get into rhythm and sharpen reflexes.

They usually last between 60 and 90 minutes, but what determines the time is the scoring system and the intensity of the points, which tend to be short but very dynamic.

You don't need a high level to start:

  • Level 1.0 – 2.0: Competition is not yet recommended; you are still learning the basics.
  • Level 2.5 – 3.0: You already understand the game and can rally consistently. Minimum level for beginner tournaments.
  • Level 3.5 – 4.0: More control, you know when to attack and defend. Amateur categories with a good pace.
  • Level 4.5+: Advanced competition, great technical and tactical mastery.

With a level 2.5 you can already start enjoying the experience of competition.

Both things help, but there is a big difference. With lessons you progress much faster because a coach corrects your technique, tactics, court position, game reading and helps you make better decisions.
